12 brave souls recently took on the Spinnaker Tower Abseil to fundraise for St Catherine’s School and College in Ventnor.
Members of staff, parents and supporters came together for the event which took place on Saturday 20th May. This included Lisa from their Occupational Therapy team and Tanya, the school’s Fundraising and Marketing Assistant.
Joining them were Billie, Sarah, Cameron, Marc, Jason, Laura, Amanda, Wendy and Sarah. The youngest to take part was Ruby who is 15 and the day was a great success.

“What an amazing experience! The views were amazing. Things got tough for me about halfway down when my glove got stuck! However, I remembered why I was doing this challenge and that drove me to finish. To be part of such an amazing group of people, who came together to support 1 another and St Catherine’s was wonderful.”
St Catherine’s School and College is based in Ventnor and is a specialist education provider to young people with speech, language and communication difficulties. So far the abseil has raised an incredible £5,500. There is, however, still time to donate. To do so and to find out about future events you could be part of email: [email protected].
