Residents at Old Charlton House Residential Home enjoyed a wonderful day full of treats recently. The day began with Scoops, the Ice Cream Van, visiting the home and enabling residents to choose their favourite flavour and topping them off with flakes, there was lots of cornetto-licking fun. Making the most of the glorious sunshine, residents enjoyed sitting out in the garden sipping a cheeky Pimm’s, complete with full fruit salad. They were entertained by the Havenstreet Ukelele Group whilst outside. For supper residents had a most delicious Chinese Take Away from the Golden Dragon in Cowes. They very helpfully delivered it and gave us extra prawn crackers too which were gobbled up with appreciation. Resident, Janet, said:
“I loved the Chinese, it reminded me of when I went on holiday to China with my husband and ate the food out there”.
Debbie Webb, Activity Coordinator, said:
“I love watching their smiles appear and I’m extremely privileged to be able to share these special moments with our residents. It’s the little things that make all the difference in their lives”.
Clare Williams, Manager, said:
“It is always a pleasure to see the residents’ happy faces and watching them enjoying life. We appreciate every moment that we get to spend with our residents and strive to offer them personalised enrichment so that they can lead the best life possible”.
