A crash involving a moped and a Southern Vectis bus is causing delays in Carisbrooke this morning (Tuesday).
Emergency service personnel rushed to Carisbrooke Road near the junction with Wellington Road at around 10:15, following reports of a crash between a Southern Vectis Route 7 bus and a moped.
At the scene, a single ambulance from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service is tending to a single casualty in the back of an ambulance. An Operational Commander was sent to the scene but has since been stood down.
Damage to the involved vehicles appears to be very minor, but it is unclear as to what injuries have been sustained.
A duo of Police vehicles are in attendance, with officers closing the road at the Wellington Road roundabout whilst the incident is dealt with. Southern Vectis buses are currently diverting via Fieldfare Road and Wellington Road.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area for the time being until the incident is cleared.
UPDATE @ 11:05 – The incident has been cleared and the road has been reopened.
