UPDATED: Police and ambulance crews are responding to a road traffic collision on Middle Road near Freshwater this morning (Saturday).
The incident, which has seen a car collide into a hedge, has occurred near to Afton Road.
Island Echo readers are reporting that the road is blocked.
Motorists are being diverted in both directions.
UPDATE @ 12:51 – It is understood the driver of the sole vehicle involved in the incident – a red BMW – has suffered a medical episode at the wheel.
The 71-year-old male has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
