UPDATED: Emergency services are attending a single vehicle road traffic collision between Yaverland and Bembridge this afternoon (Sunday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is on scene with 2 appliances from Bembridge and Ryde, whilst the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has 2 ambulances and an officer in attendance.
A white Citroen has rolled down the carriageway, landing on all 4 wheels. It is feared at least 1 person is trapped inside the vehicle.
The main road into Bembridge from Sandown is closed as emergency teams deal with the incident.
UPDATE @ 14:30 – 2 adults and a young child have been taken to hospital with minor injuries after their vehicle – a hire car – went up a bank before rolling down the road.
Island Echo understands the driver was trying to avoid an animal.
Recovery of the car has been arranged.
UPDATE @ 14:56 – The road has now re-opened in both directions following the successful recovery of the car by Bartletts Service Station.
