Yokogawa Marex staff donated their Christmas Gifts to help those who needed them most this winter.
Mountbatten Isle of Wight and The Isle of Wight Foodbank each received a donation of £875 thanks to the staff of the Cowes-based business.
Instead of receiving the usual Christmas hamper, many staff decided that they would rather see their Christmas gift donated to local good causes for the third year running.

Thank you for thinking of us, knowing you are supporting us helps inspire our teams who work around the clock to ensure patients and their families receive the highest quality compassionate care when they need it the most. Knowing we have people like you by our side makes us even more determined to keep meeting the growing demand for our services so that no one is ever ignored.”
Nigel Hartley– Mountbatten CEO adds:
“Our services are growing due to the increasing need from our Island community, and our costs are rising. We are now looking after around 2,000 people on the Island every day, 24/7, within their own homes, in our 16-bed inpatient unit, and at St Mary’s hospital. We are in a really challenging time, and know that everyone is struggling, too. Which is why support from Yokogawa Marex and local businesses like them is more important than ever before.
The Isle of Wight Foodbank says:
“We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation on behalf of the staff at Yokogawa Marex. In December we supported over 900 people and as we see the cost of living continue to rise, we also see a rise in the number of people needing to use the foodbank, including working individuals.
“Your kind donation will help us continue supporting local people in crisis with 3-day emergency food parcels. Whilst our aim is not to be here, we realise that we are needed more than ever.”
