Cowes Primary School held a Christingle Service at St Mary’s Church at the end of November, as part of their festive celebrations, followed by a nativity last week.
The children made their own Christingles; there was great excitement when the candles were all lit in the church, representing Christ as the light of the world and the approaching Advent.
The school then held 2 showings of their Christmas production ‘Hey Joe’. This was a different take on the traditional nativity story – with a modern twist based around Joseph. The children and staff worked very hard on rehearsals and both shows were very well attended by parents/families and carers.
On Tuesday (13th December), it was the turn of Early Years to perform their nativity; this was great fun, with a range of music styles from around the world.
Cowes Primary School’s held their Christmas lunch on Wednesday 14th, prepared, cooked and served by the school’s own kitchen: The Galley.
The events culminated on Friday (16th December) with a Fun Day – everyone dressing up and singing festive songs together…..with a special visitor popping in to see the children!
