Concern over a lone yachtsman on a moored 51ft ketch led to Cowes RNLI lifeboat being launched this afternoon (Thursday).
Solent Coastguard received a report that a man aboard a yacht, moored alongside a midstream pontoon in the River Medina, appeared to be ill.
With fears of the man’s health, Cowes RNLI were tasked to launch at just before 15:30, but when a casualty care-trained lifeboat crew member went aboard the yacht he found the man did not require medical treatment after all.
The lifeboat returned to station at 16:20.
