A Ventnor man will appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court next month following an alleged burglary at a shoe shop in Newport over the weekend.
As first reported by Island Echo, at around 02:00 on 10th August, Police were alerted to a burglary at Bernards – an independent shoe shop – on St James’ Street in Newport.
Part of the front door was smashed to gain access with broken glass seen both inside and outside the front door.
As part of their investigation, Police have arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of burglary.
It has now been confirmed that 54-year-old Gary Andrew Dauncey, of High Street in Ventnor, will appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court charged with burglary on 2nd September.
