A resident at Old Charlton House care home has marked a remarkable 69th wedding anniversary with her husband, celebrating nearly 7 decades of marriage on the Isle of Wight.
Joan Croutier and her husband Adrian were married on 23rd March 1957 at Cowes Methodist Church.

The couple have been reflecting on their special day, recalling how they honeymooned in Brighton, staying with a relative as money was tight at the time. During their journey, they remembered how a ferry captain sounded the horn in their honour, while a handbell group lined the seafront and responded in celebration.
Their anniversary was marked with a special meal at Old Charlton House, where they were presented with a fruit cake made by the home’s chef.
Joan and Adrian later celebrated with family members as they gathered to open cards and mark the milestone occasion together.
