It’s the final week to register for a postal walker pack for this year’s Walk the Wight, which takes place on Sunday 14th May.
Mountbatten’s flagship event takes place in a month’s time but packs and walker numbers can only be sent in the post to those who register before 09:00 on Thursday 20th April.
From that date, online registration for both Walk the Wight and Schools Walk the Wight will still be possible but walker numbers can only be collected from your chosen start line on the day or from Mountbatten in advance, by prior arrangement only.
Lorraine White, Mountbatten’s Major Events Fundraiser, says:
“It is one month to the big day and the countdown to Walk the Wight 2023 is on.
“So far, we have had a great response and we are really excited to welcome thousands of people on Sunday 14 May.
“If you are somebody who likes to receive your pack and walker number in the post, then now is the time to register.
“This year’s walk is incredibly important to Mountbatten. As our flagship event, it has the potential to raise significant funds which support the work we do for people on the Isle of Wight experiencing death, dying and bereavement.
“Please get behind us and Walk the Wight this May.”
From 20th April, online registration for the main walks will cost £15 per person. Online registration closes at 09:00 on 12th May. You can register on the day for a donation of £20 per person.
