The Isle of Wight Council’s official website remains offline this morning (Sunday) more than 16 hours after it suddenly crashed.
Residents and businesses trying to access the iwight.com website are being met with an error message, rendering the site completely inaccessible to visitors.
The council’s website hosts information on everything from emergency management to planning, councillor contact details to online payment services and everything inbetween.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Council said last night:
“We are currently experiencing an issue with our website and are working with our providers to resolve this. We will update as soon as possible.
“Apologies for any inconvenience”.
The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
UPATE @ 10:40 – The Isle of Wight Council have confirmed that the website is now back online.
