The Leader of the Isle of Wight Council, Lora Peacey-Wilcox, is taking a short break from her duties to recharge her batteries, it has been announced.
Councillor Peacey-Wilcox was taken unwell at last night’s (Wednesday’s) Full Council meeting.
A spokesperson for the Alliance Group has said:
“The thoughts of all members of the Alliance Group are with the Leader of the Council, Lora Peacey-Wilcox.
“Lora has been working incredibly hard in recent months leading our group and driving change in the Council. At the beginning of our term, she was christened ‘The Pocket Rocket’ and she has more than lived up to that name. However, even rockets occasionally need a break.
“Lora will be taking a short period away from Council work to recover and recharge her batteries”.
Cllr Peacey-Wilcox is expected to still undertake some key pre-existing commitments which she feels she cannot miss.
In her absence, councillors Phil Jordan, Ian Stephens and Jonathan Bacon will be covering her workload.
The Old gang of three are taking over.
I wonder if it’s a coup d’etat. Down hill from now on like the previous time they handed the keys over.
Best Wishes. But who is now in charge?
Pocket Rocket??? What goes up will come down.
Illness can’t be helped and we can only hope that it is short term and she makes a speedy recovery.
In the meantime, as Councillor Brodie has already left the alliance, we are left with a minority council being run by an uninspiring group where two of the tribunes are an already failed council leader and a failed parliamentary candidate.
It doesn’t bode well and I can only repeat that I hope she makes a very speedy recovery.
Jonathan Bacon where can he go wrong oh i forgot everything he touches
Who knows what bullying, cover ups, and bribery is enacted and it takes a strong person to stand up to such when family, wealth and loved ones could well be at risk.
Easier to dissapear and allow the years of corruption contiue, especially if you are still on full pay.
