Convicted sex offender Alan Wilson, who failed to disclose his new address to Police despite living there for 18-months, will learn his fate in May.
Wilson, of High Street in Shanklin, admitted a single offence of failing to comply with the notifications of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court earlier this month (20th March).
Wilson was placed on the Sex Offenders Register back in 2019 when he was convicted for possession of indecent child images.
Prosecutor Serena Edwards told the court that on the 30th November 2024 it was discovered that Wilson was living at a different address to the one that he had previously registered with Police.
As a registered sex offender, Wilson has to disclose any new address he may reside at within 3 days of moving.
The court heard how Wilson had been living at the address for some 18-months, but failed to disclose it to Police.
With Wilson facing more serious allegations in the Isle of Wight Crown Court, Magistrates adjourned the case until the 29th May.
A pre-sentence report is to be compiled.
