The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked alongside Yarmouth RNLI following concerns for the welfare of an individual in the West Wight earlier this evening (Saturday).
Concerns had been raised for the welfare of a young intoxicated male possibly in the sea off of Fort Victoria. The alarm was raised at 19:46.
Upon arrival, information was received that the casualty had successfully got himself to a place of safety.
An ambulance crew from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were requested to check the casualty over.
A shoreline search was conducted by Yarmouth RNLI before retuning to station.
