A multi-agency rescue operation on the beach at Yaverland this morning (Tuesday) which saw an individual airlifted to St Mary’s Hospital, was a concern for welfare incident it has been confirmed. Coastguard Crews from Bembridge and Ventnor rushed to the scene on Yaverland Beach at around 11:00 following reports of an incident by the shoreline. Due to the hard-to-reach location of the incident, Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 175 was scrambled from its Lee-On-Solent base. Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat (SSILB) was also launched, joining the helicopter at the far end of Yaverland Beach. Resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service – such as an Operational Commander – were also present. Coastguard Rescue Officers – who had been transferred along the golden sands by SSILB – and paramedics worked to treat the casualty before they were lifted from the beach and taken to St Mary’s Hospital. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were informed.

Take the vax pay the tax?
The Elite are de-populating
I’d be concerned too, if I only knew what welafre was.
Nice to see they corrected their error, oh and the return of plastic qwerty spouting some nonsense about Vax. Always raises a chuckle……or maybe not.
If only the Numpty’s running the island would STOP
B’stards speeding, parking on Pavements and Double Yellow Lines
The island would be a better place for everyone
It’s 2024 and IW Council don’t even clamp vehicles
USELESS GOOD FOR NOTHING B’STARDS
Are you suggesting that the Council should break the law? Because wheel clamping was outlawed 12 years ago.
That’s the truth.
Did it hurt?
Clamping happens on the mainland.
They have Balls on the mainland to Stop Numpty’s breaking
the law.
How very sad. Heart breaking to think that there are people who do not have people they feel safe to talk to.
How about a mention for the lifeguards opposite ocean deck, one of who ran along the front with backpack on , in the heat. Good on em
…..and Yaverland kiosk who provided free bottle water for ambulance staff
