Community Spirited Cafe held their first Teddy Bears picnic with visits from some special guests on Saturday 22nd July.
Due to the adverse weather, the event had to be moved indoors but it was still hailed as a wonderful event with visits from Captain Ted of Red Funnel and Smudgie from the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary.
There was also singing from Izzy who did an ABBA and classic Disney set and lots of games for the children to play including hook a duck, hoopla, pin the bow tie on the donkey, bean bag game and connect 4. Sweets were provided for those who successfully completed the games. There was also an exceptional refreshments stall and Tombola.
Teddy bears were entered into a competition and won a rosette for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions with a beautiful diamond art teddy bear given to the 1st place in all categories. There was also a ‘name the teddy’ competition, which was won by Jack and the other giant Teddy winner was Dan.
Overall, £400 was raised towards the community pantry.
