A newly expanded edition of ‘Ryde Waterworks, Knighton Memories’ has been released, offering a deeper, richly illustrated account of one of Ryde’s most significant heritage sites.
Available exclusively via www.rydewaterworks.co.uk, the Extended Edition runs to 50 pages and builds on the original work with additional photographs, personal memories and new historical detail. The new material further preserves the story of the Ryde Waterworks and the surrounding Knighton area for future generations.
Rooted in community research and first-hand recollections, the book captures the human stories behind the area’s industrial past. Contributions come from local residents and history enthusiasts, many of whom are members of the active Facebook group Ryde Waterworks, Knighton Memories, where shared memories and archival discoveries continue to be added.
All proceeds from the sale of Ryde Waterworks, Knighton Memories – Extended Edition are donated to Isle of Wight charity IoW Defibrillators, which funds the installation and ongoing maintenance of public defibrillators across the Island.
