Coastguard Rescue Officers are reminding Islanders to never climb cliffs or landslides following a call out to Shanklin this evening (Tuesday).
Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked by Solent Coastguard at 19:14 following reports of youths climbing the recent cliff fall at Shanklin Esplanade.
Once on scene it was confirmed that no persons were present on the cliff fall, however, officers spoke to 2 teens nearby who confirmed it was them.
Safety advice was given to the youngsters.
HM Coastguard advise that you should never climb cliffs or landslides as they can be extremely dangerous and unstable.
If you do become in difficulty at the coast or see people climbing cliffs then dial 999 immediately and ask for the Coastguard.
