The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team, Freshwater Independent Lifeboat and the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter were all involved in a search at The Needles yesterday morning (Monday) following the discovery of a number of items on the cliff edge.
At just after 09:00 Solent Coastguard tasked the West Wight based rescue team and lifeboat to search around The Needles and Scratchell’s Bay with the assistance of Coastguard Rescue 104 over fears that someone was in danger.
Nothing was located by the emergency teams and the search was called off by lunchtime.
