Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor are in attendance at Battery Gardens in Lake this morning (Tuesday) due to concerns for the welfare of a woman.
Police were called to Talbot Road at the top of Lake Hill at around 10:00 after it was reported that a female was in a distressed state near to the cliff edge.
Thankfully, officers have managed to talk the woman down and she is now in safe hands. The gardens are closed to the public for the time being.
It is thought to be the same individual involved in an identical incident last week.
If you are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, you can call The Samaritans in confidence on 116 123.
Help is at hand when you need it – you don’t have to be suicidal to get in touch.
