A 27-year-old man from Brading has admitted harassing his ex-partner following the breakdown of a very short-lived relationship.
Asa Gough, 27, of Lower Furlongs in Brading, admitted a single count of harassment without violence when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court earlier this month (20th March).
Prosecuting, Serena Edwards, told the court that the incident arose after the breakdown of an 8-day relationship between Gough and a woman.
The court heard how following the end of the relationship, Gough made attempts to contact his ex on social media, despite being told not to.
After his attempts to contact her over social media fell on deaf ears, Gough sent letters to the woman’s home address.
The court heard how the offending took place between the 2nd – 14th August 2025.
Gough was most recently in court back in December 2024 for an offence of a similar nature.
Defending himself, Gough offered no mitigation.
Magistrates adjourned the case until the 29th May to allow a pre-sentence report to be compiled.
