Vecta House Care Home in Newport kicked off the Christmas festivities with a Christmas Lights ceremony. The festivities began with residents, families, friends and staff gathering together around the Christmas tree to embrace the magical moments that were organised throughout the evening. Summerfields Primary School joined in the celebrations by performing Christmas carols for everyone to get in the festive mood, you could hear the chimes of the children’s beautiful voices echo through the home with everyone joining in singing the classic carols. As a thank you to the choir for such an outstanding performance residents presented each child with a Christmas present. After everyone indulged in warm mince pies, hot chocolate or mulled wine they headed outside for the big finale. Gasps of joy were heard as the front of the home was lit up with bright-coloured lights. Tanya Everson lifestyle leader at Vecta House Care Home said:
“This is such a special time of the year and it is our job to deliver a magical and joyful time for both our residents and their families. It is important for our residents to keep connected with the community and I would like to thank both Summerfields Primary School and Isle of Wight Round Table for helping us to create such special memories for our beloved residents ”
