A pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty bowls went under the hammer for a whopping £135,000 at HRD Auction Rooms in Brading this week.
The bowls were listed as having a Yongzheng mark on the base with green dragon, red dragon and exotic bird decoration.
Measuring just 15cm in diameter and 6.5cm high, the bowls are not massive in size but they certainly attracted a large interest from collectors.
The hammer finally went down at £135,000 when the bowls appeared at auction yesterday (Tuesday). No guide price was given.
A second pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty bowls, with a Daoguang mark, sold for £41,000.
It comes just weeks after a Chinese pot with a £500 guide price sold for £152,000. A second bowl was also sold on the same day for £42,000.
It means that in the past month alone HRD has sold in excess of £370,000 of Chinese pottery.
No point looking through my cupboards again !!!!
