The quirky Chillerton & Gatcombe Scarecrow Festival is back for 2022, with over 100 gallybaggers set to be displayed between 28th May and 3rd June.
Islanders are being invited to explore the vast array of scarecrows that have been made by villagers and put on display in their gardens and around the village.
There will be over 100 scarecrows on display from traditional gallybaggers to those on a more modern theme.
Aunt Sally’s Tea rooms will be open in the Village Hall between 11:00-16:00 every day serving teas and delicious homemade cakes. The Gallybagger Inn, the local pub, will also be open.
Visitors are asked to vote for their favourites and voting slips can be obtained from both Aunty Sally’s and The Gallybagger.
The festival, which began in 2010, will open with live music from Mark Bennett at The Gallybagger on Saturday 28th May, and will close with ‘End of the Line’ playing on Friday 3rd June.
