Police have issued CCTV footage of 43-year-old Michael Shipman – also known as Matthew Duffield – who is wanted in connection with a number of burglaries on the Isle of Wight.
Shipman/Duffield was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison back in 2016 after being found guilty of robbing elderly pensioners in Bath in November 2014. Now, 5 years after being sent down, the 43-year-old’s photo has been released by Hampshire Police as they hunt him for alleged crimes on the Isle of Wight.
Police have been investigating reports of ‘Nottingham Knockers’ attending people’s addresses and stealing from them. On 1st August this year, a man entered the home address of a woman in her 90s from Freshwater, left some household items in her home and then took money from her purse whilst she lay in bed.
The same woman was targeted again on 25th November, during a similar incident in which money was again taken.
As part of this investigation, Hampshire Constabulary would like to locate and speak with Matthew Shipman. He also goes under a number of aliases including Robert Wilson, Matthew Duffield, Matthew Harvey, Terence King and Andrew Shipman.
He is described as white, approximately 5ft 11ins tall, medium build, with very short brown hair and hazel eyes.
