Hundreds of classic, quirky and eye-catching cars and thousands of interested spectators descended on Ryde last weekend for the annual Classic Car Extravaganza.
The weather stayed largely dry for the 2-day event on the Esplanade, which saw a whole host of vehicles from all eras park up to be enjoyed by visitors to the seaside town.
It was to be noted this year that some vehicles previously seen at the show were nowhere to be seen, but a whole host of different vehicles had ventured out including a lovely selection of Aston Martins spanning the decades.
The free event, organised by Vic Gallucci, continues to raise much-needed funds for the Island’s very own Mountbatten Hospice and the IW Round Table.

No Electric vehicles in sight, heaven.
Yes lovely to see cars with character however things progress and I expect the same was once said about internal combustion engines in the days of steam engines and before then about horse drawn carriages.
Look a bit closer, those kids are driving electric 😀
A shame some of the crowd could not enjoy this wonderful event in Newport as well. Heaven knows the towns’ cafes needed the trade!
How come this event wasn’t the same as original with a day in each town?
Please don’t tell me it was down to the council run car park?
