Police have closed a key road in Sandown as a result of a car rolling onto its roof in a late night smash.
Emergency services were called to Perowne Way, near Jeal’s Lane, at just before 22:30 tonight (Tuesday) to reports of a car upside down on its roof.
It’s thought the driver of the Ford Fiesta careered the vehicle into a parked Nissan Juke, forcing the motor up onto the pavement.
As a result of the impact, the Fiesta then spun and rolled onto its roof.
No serious or life-threatening injuries have been sustained.
Perowne Way is closed in both directions whilst recovery of the vehicle takes place.
Further information is expected from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary on Wednesday

Should have installed springs on the roof so it would just bounce right way up again
Unless speeding how do vehicles end up on their roof!
Numpty driving yet again on island Roads.
Bell end
Bellend
so which is it,,..
‘Bell end’, or ‘Bellend’
please show a bit of consistancy in your insults….
Gonk is a born Numpty
More speed humps and speed cameras required,
not to mention islandwide CCTV
You have obviously never driven down Perowne Way. Plenty of speed humps. All the prevention in the world would be useless if the driver is drunk.
I drive down Perowne Way a few times a week
The speed humps are too low, too spaced apart and
are too far apart from each other.
Vehicles still speed along Perowne Way
ASK THE RESIDENTS
Actually there are no speed ramps near jeals lane just a useless idiot of a driver yet again?
Speed humps and cameras are required islandwide
