Police, fire and ambulance crews are attending a road traffic collision on Military Road near Brook this evening (Tuesday).
A car has left the road and is at the side of the carriageway. It is unclear at this time if any other vehicles are involved.
The road has been closed in both directions between Brighstone and Brook whilst emergency teams tend to the injured.
At least 1 person – the driver – remains inside the vehicle.
Multiple paramedic crews from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are on scene alongside colleagues from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and Police.
The incident occurred shortly before 19:40.
UPDATE @ 20:50 – 3 people have been injured as a result of this evening’s 2-vehicle collision, which has involved a blue Renault Clio and 1 other vehicle.
1 person has had to be extricated from a vehicle by means of a roof removal, carried out by fire crews from Newport and Freshwater.
The road is expected to re-open once recovery has been completed.
UPDATE @ 21:15 – A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

May I ask at what point is a Motorcycle mentioned?
It appears that 1 vehicle is mentioned and and only a Member of public remains in vehicle? Sounds like a car rather than a bike too me?
Car off road = ban motorcycles? Seems like the smart response…
Pity it isn’t busted up, as could easily have done such to the innocents.
