UPDATED: A car has left the carriageway and gone down a bank following a crash on Middle Road near Carisbrooke this morning (Tuesday).
Police, fire and ambulance resources are on scene between Calbourne and Carisbrooke. They were called to the incident shortly before 07:20.
Motorists should avoid the area whilst emergency services attend to the casualties.
UPDATE @ 08:15 – Amazingly, the female driver of a Ford Fiesta has escaped any serious injury in the crash despite the vehicle rolling off the road and down a steep embankment.
It was initially feared that any occupants of the upside down vehicle were trapped, but thankfully that wasn’t the case.
Paramedics have conveyed just 1 person – the driver – to St Mary’s Hospital. Other emergency services have now left the scene.
Middle Road is open in both directions. The car remains in situ.
