A car has left the carriageway and crashed into woodland on Long Lane on the outskirts of Newport this morning (Monday).
The Nissan Juke, travelling east, has collided head-on into a number of small trees close to Bracken Dog Rescue.
Thankfully, the driver of the crossover has been able to exit the vehicle of their own accord and without serious injury.
Traffic is delayed in the area but the road remains open.
Southern Vectis are advising that their Route 8 buses are diverting via Staplers and Briddlesford Road until further notice.

Looks like the Jukes off road capabilities aren’t what the salesperson told them.
Why have Island echo not put the headline as…Nissan driver crashes . The other story is BMW driver suspected of drug driving.. obviously IE have some kind of prejudice against BMW drivers ..subtle ay
And I thought the Juke couldn’t get any uglier, perhaps the crash has improved it’s look..
Wood you believe it!
Trees can be dangerous but I just can’t think of a joke involving Jukes and hazards.
Showing your age…but it was good.
Can’t even blame ice or fog this morning. Maybe the phone rang…
My money is on swerving to avoid a head on with some t**t overtaking!
The mobile tree’s are about again, beware!
Stay at home it safer lol
was kind of pointless going out ! Was it essential..? Not now !! Maybe take a new driving test, in about 6 months.. Driving with undue care and attention..
Maybe they had to GO TO WORK!!!!!!!
