Police nabbed themselves a ‘BOGOF’ deal in Ryde earlier today (Friday) when they seized 2 cars from dodgy drivers.
Officers were conducting enquiries in the Appley area when they spotted a car without insurance, tax or an MOT. The vehicle was pulled over and subsequently seized.
Whilst waiting for Bartletts Service Station to arrive to recover the car, a second vehicle was spotted driving past – this time with a disqualified driver behind the wheel.
The second car was also seized as it had no insurance and was being driven by an uninsured, unlicensed driver.
The Land Rover Freelancer and Toyota Aygo are now in the compound having been seized by the Police.

ANPR needs rolling out Island wide.
That will put a Stop to this nonsense
To round up vehicles driving with NO Mot etc
Cameras should be set up in all Fuel stations, everyone needs to fill their vehicles.
Best way of catching offenders
Good work two more unroadworthy cars of the road with there dodgy drivers
I am sick of hearing these stupid chavvy boy racing cars, they look absolutely comical ! I’m sure they must spend hundreds trying to make them appear like a noisy racing car, but they might as well have a sign to say ‘ I am brainless’ & chavvy & couldn’t care less about anyone except themselves.
Chav boy racers in a Land Rover? What planet are you on?
“Boy racers” in old Freelander and an Aygo that’ll just about get to 60 mph in around 14 seconds?
Downhill with the wind behind it in the slipstream of an articulated lorry.
Which one of those cars was a boy racer car? The Aygo or Freelander? Haha your comment makes absolutely no sense to this story
All cars seized in this way should be crushed – end of.
Or you could do something useful and much more practical like sell it and donate the money to a charity or the Police? Its not the cars fault the owner is a muppet, why take it out on the car?
Another 10 mins and could have been 3 of a kind…
well done.good work…for once
Excellent work… hope they also stopping and checking the many small motorbikes buzzing around with illegal exhausts !!!
Get Tax, Insurance and an MOT like we all have to. Ha Ha……busted. Hopefully this will teach you a valuable life lesson.
Sadly the ‘valuable lesson taught’ will be that the fine will likely be far far less than having to have paid the MOT, tax and insurance, especially if young and especially if having got away with it for years.
Also any ban when driving with tinted windows or in a stolen car is unlikely to worry such cretins too much.
When you ain’t got nothing, you got nothing to lose.
Still, it make the gullible feel justice has been served I guess.
One hopes they also, when in Ryde check out the young dusky group of drug dealers , or are they afraid the race card is stronger than the law now?
This would never happen, as it is too far above there pay grade.
Drug driving also needs to be stopped.
Was in Yaverland Car Park late this afternoon and could smell
Drugs.
A guy was leisurely sitting in the drivers seat of a Light blue BMW
Soft top with a large drug rolled up.
DRUG DRIVERS NEED STOPPING
Nice one officers, welll done on that
So many more need catching.
Rather than wasting money on Traffic Wardens the Council should employ
Wardens who check for NO MOT or TAX
For over 6 months a silver Audi has been driving around the Island with NO
MOT
Island registration X2TDL
You can report it online yourself.
The public could stop illegal cars on the road by joining forces.
We can check the internet for cars with no tax,mot and insurance. If we all do this each week
checking just a few cars each week and informing the authorities we can clean up the island roads and make them safer
It’s busy bodies like you who give the island a bad name.
