Residents in the Parkhurst area of Newport are without water this morning (Thursday) due to a burst main nearby.
Water is gushing out of the failed pipe at the bottom of Horsebridge Hill on the main Newport to Cowes road.
Temporary traffic lights are expected to be put in place to enable engineers to fix the issue, which could lead to extra travel delays this morning.
Southern Vectis say that they are unable to serve the Londsdale Avenue bus stop (Newport bound) on their Route 1 service. Passengers should use the St Mary’s Hospital stop instead.
Southern Water have not yet supplied any information on the incident, but residents have been told it is likely that the water will be off for the rest of the morning.

Probably load shedding by the water board!
