Officers searching for missing man Mark James have sadly discovered the body of a man this afternoon (Monday) in a public toilet in Cowes
It was at around 14:40 that Police and paramedics were called to The Cut in Cowes Town Centre, as first reported by Island Echo.
Cordons were quickly erected at the junctions with High Street and Cross Street after a body was discovered.
Police have since confirmed that the discovery is being linked to the disappearance of 60-year-old Mark James.
Mark, who had been missing since Wednesday morning, was last seen in the town.
A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson has said:
“Formal identification has not yet taken place, but Mark’s family have been informed.”

A file will be prepared for the coroner.
