Bobby I Can Fly – who have been playing gigs and making music on the Isle of Wight for almost 40 years – are to release a new EP pressed by the Isle of Wight’s newest label, Wight Vinyl Records. The 4 tracks – written by the band’s vocalist Duncan Jones and produced and mixed by bassist Paul Armfield – will be available as a digital download as well as being pressed on vinyl. The band play a unique blend of New Wave, Funk and Jazz, which sounds just as fresh now as ever. All profits from the sale of the EP will be donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The very limited edition white-coloured vinyl is available for Pre-order now from Bandcamp and is expected to be on the shelves second week of February, at AAA Records in Newport. Bobby I Can Fly have said:
“It has taken us 39 years but after the cassette, the cd, and the DVD; here is the first ever bit of Bobby on vinyl!”
Bobby I Can Fly have just played to a capacity audience in Southampton’s Heartbreakers venue and will be playing Strings, Newport on 9th February 2024. Some tickets are still available.
