“Over the last year, Islanders have told me about the need for blister pack recycling facilities on the Isle of Wight. “I am pleased a scheme is now in place at the Boots High Street stores in Ryde and Shanklin. This is providing good coverage for Islanders living in the East of the Isle of Wight. “I would, however, like to see the scheme extended into more stores, so I have written to Boots urging them to extend the scheme to their Newport High Street store which does not yet offer blister pack recycling. That would enable more Islanders to use the recycling scheme.”

Meanwhile, the rest of the island is falling to bits, literally, Red Funnel on the brink of collapse and all sausage bob can talk about is blister packs. Not even of a mention of the shops that got flooded out in Cowes. Take note your looking at a big loser in the election, coming to a ballot box near you.
Getting priorities right again then bob,you really are completely and utterly useless!
‘MP Bob Seely has asked Boots UK Ltd to expand its blister pack to cover more of the Island.’
Sometimes, just sometimes…..
Well. that’ll sort everything out, won’t it?
Must be general election voting time….
Well done Bob think off the future for us don’t worry about the older middle age generations think woke
Dr Bob has his finger on the pulse as usual. Pity Boots no longer have a presence in Cowes/Northwood/Gurnard – but perhaps he’s missed that.
He can’t have…there’s still a thermometer in there.
Definitely the most pressing issue facing Islanders at the moment 🙂
Why not include SANDOWN?
These islanders that wrote to Bob Sleepy about the lack of blister pack recycling on the island must be very, very few. Never mind the island, one ought to wonder what planet they are on if all they can see is wrong with the place is inadequate plastic disposal facilities. Roads? Excellent!
Schools? Excellent!
Ferries? Excellent!
Police response times? Exceptional!
Hospital waiting times? Excellent.
Buses, libraries, social care? Outstanding!
Plastic recycling? Tut tut.
I weep for them.
Same ones who wrote to him about Saving The Sun, Hulverstone. Dozens apparently. Just shows how wrong we were, he CAN read after all! Bit late in the day to prove it though.
What makes you think that the islanders who contacted Bob Seely about the blister packs aren’t interested in anything else happening on the island?
By the way, what direct action are you taking to improve the quality of life on the Island?
If Mr Seely is interested in recycling maybe he can do something about the IWCC contracted kerbside strimming people who happily shred litter because it’s not in their remit to pick it up , making it impossible for litter pickers to recover. I have written to my local councillor but she just agreed with my comment.
YOU pick it up then. You won’t,…… why? Because it is not YOUR job too? Well, it isn’t theirs either. They have powerful machines, which are attached to harnesses and if they stopped and picked up all the litter, then it would take twice as long.
So if it bothers you enough to notice and complain about, get yourself a picker and a black bag, and you will feel wonderful for doing your bit to ‘save’ the planet, in you mind, anyway.
FTI I am a regular litter picker, why else would I complain ???? Stupid comment.
Don’t ever expect any other type of comment.
I am completely aware what machines they use. I am saying the litter could be picked up BEFORE they start, or in the case of plastic bottles, just kicked to one side so regular litter pickers LIKE MYSELF can collect it. Stupid comment !!!!!
Maybe they could pick it up before they shred it with their strimmers?????
Just a common sense idea !!!!!
After all we all contribute to this through our council tax……
Can we not just get rid of Pop Up Bob now, and not wait for an election .. he’s so detaches from the reality of Island problems, it’s now just farcical!!
Is there anything Island related that this man will not put his name against in an election year? Seen more of him in the last couple of months than in the previous 6 years.
Sorry Bob but when you thought I said: “it would be great if Boots UK Ltd could expand its blister pack recycling scheme to cover more of the Island,” I actually said “Why don’t you resign now and save us the trouble of voting you out of office“. Simple mistake I suppose. I will shout next time I see you.
That’s great. I didn’t know this was possible. Thanks Mr Seely for trying to do your bit for recycling on the island.
Are local authorities not already well advanced in the recycling business? Another photo opportunity as an election looms, perhaps? Give it up Bob. Youdon’t stand an earthly.
Well done Bob. Nice to see someone working for the Island.
All pharmacies which dispense prescriptions should be prepared to accept empty blister packs.
Who gives a Fcuk about recycling, sort the Ferries out.
All very worthy but I’d like him to focus on expanding his ‘getting sh*t out of our sea scheme’ first.
What I find strange is if this Tory Council / Tory Government
were concerned about the climate.
Why allow the Sandown Sprint Motor Racing Event to
take place.
Think of all the damage that will be done with all the
unnesseccary pollution also it will encourage the
ST Numpty’s to speed like the usually do on our
Island roads.
