Sam Hart struck 4 times as Binstead & COB Reserves sealed the club’s FOURTH trophy of the season in Thursday’s Junior B Cup Final.
This latest meeting between the sides – their fourth in recent weeks – took place last night (Thursday) at the Peter Henry Ground, Brading, with the ~Junior B Cup at stake.
Sandown started brightly and fashioned the game’s first opening when Jake Lester linked with Gary Harvey, who rounded the goalkeeper only for a covering defender to intervene.
Lester then met a pinpoint Ryan Walker cross in the 8th minute, but his header drifted over.
Binstead’s first effort came in the 14th minute as Sam Hart fired over, before Luke Healy responded with a mazy run that ended narrowly wide.

Hart continued to threaten, dragging another effort over in the 18th minute as Binstead began to settle into the contest.
The breakthrough came in the 27th minute (1-0), when Binstead won possession in midfield and released Hart, who finished confidently.
Connor Webster produced a fine save moments later to tip a 25-yard free kick wide, but Binstead doubled their advantage in the 32nd minute (2-0), breaking swiftly from a Sandown corner with Hart again applying the finish.
Binstead remained organised for the rest of the half, keeping Sandown at bay while retaining a threat on the counter.

Half Time: Binstead & COB Reserves 2-0 Sandown & Lake A
Sandown had an opportunity to respond early in the second half, but Lester fired over when well placed.
Binstead nearly added a third in the 52nd minute, only for Webster to make an excellent 1-on-1 save.
Despite continued effort, Sandown were unable to find a breakthrough, with Danny Cowburn firing over and Harry Brown delivering several dangerous set pieces.

The contest was effectively settled in the 77th minute (3-0), ending any hopes of a Sandown comeback as substitute Danny Mew cut in from the right and finished neatly into the bottom corner.
A minute later, Binstead extended their lead further (4-0) as a clearance from the restart sent Hart through on goal to complete his hat-trick.

Hart added his 4th of the evening with virtually the final kick (5-0), rounding off a dominant display as Binstead & COB Reserves sealed a memorable quadruple for the club in emphatic fashion.
The result means Binstead have now secured 4 trophies this season, with the 1st team having lifted the Division 2 Championship and Junior A Cup alongside the Junior B and Ryde & District Cup success of the reserves.
