The Shanklin and Sandown Ladies’ Club Championship took place over 2 days on 21st and 22nd July, with Bev Whorwood dominating the competition to secure multiple titles.
At the conclusion of the second day, Whorwood was crowned Ladies’ Club Champion and winner of the Scratch Salver with a gross score of 161. Lucy Burke finished as runner-up with 162, while Dawn Hodge secured third place on 167.
Whorwood also claimed the Handicap Cup with a nett score of 143, ahead of Gail Boyer on 145 and Catherine Bachelor on 147. Adding to her success, she won The Gallop Cup with a net 68. Deborah Bennett placed second with 70 and Catherine Bachelor took third with 72.
In the Bronze Championship, Caroline Warne was crowned Ladies’ Bronze Champion and winner of the Berry Salver with a gross 199. Boyer took runner-up with 201 and Sarah Nye finished third on 202.
The Harrison Trophy went to Boyer, who won with 38 points on countback from Susan Smith. Chris Ellis finished third with 37 points.
