Bembridge Heritage’s Summer Exhibition is set to return to Bembridge Village Hall next weekend (2nd/3rd August), running from 10:00 to 16:30 each day.
This year’s theme, ‘Facts, Tales and Legends’, promises a varied and intriguing display covering everything from the origins and history of Bembridge to curious and mysterious local stories.
Visitors can explore topics ranging from smuggling and shipwrecks to long-lost houses, as well as legends of witchcraft, druidism, and the village’s ‘sacred well’. Exhibits will also shine a light on the fate of the vanished village of Wolverton and the story of the ‘Hermit of Culver’, alongside many more historical insights into Bembridge’s past.
Entry to the exhibition is free, and there will be a grand raffle taking place across the weekend.
