Property consultancy BCM Wilson Hill has welcomed experienced lettings specialist Matthew White to its partnership, bolstering the firm’s residential lettings offering on the Isle of Wight.
Matthew joins the growing team at the company’s Merstone office, bringing with him extensive local experience having previously headed up a major residential letting agency on the Isle of Wight.
Matthew White has said:
“I am delighted to be a partner at BCM Wilson Hill. I believe my clients will recognise my passion for delivering the very best residential letting and management service, and BCM Wilson Hill aligns perfectly with my professional and efficient approach to lettings.
“The wider lettings team at BCM Wilson Hill are already managing several hundred residential tenancies and I am impressed at how that is operated. With a strong rental market and the Renters Rights Act legislation looming, this is a great time for me to engage with Isle of Wight landlords and make sure their properties are properly positioned to ensure compliance and provide protection to exposure of considerable financial penalties and to make the best returns moving forward.”
BCM Wilson Hill partner David Long added:
“We are thrilled Matt has joined us. We have a large number of clients with residential lettings portfolios and it’s great to have an experienced, qualified lettings specialist to help them make the most of their assets. Matt’s professional and detailed approach fits with our ethos. We are all looking forward to working with Matt to deliver and expand this part of our business.”

The country would be in a better place if all private rented
properties were compulsory purchased by councils and
put back into the system.
Therefore not having to pay extortionate rents for persons
on benefits and expensive hotel bills for persons arriving into
the country.
Time for the Government and Councils to take back control.
There are 5.6million rental properties in the UK. Average house price is currently £270k. CPO rules that the seller can’t be made financially worse off. Have you got enough fingers to do the maths on how much that would cost the public purse?
It doesn’t increase the available stock, as the people in the currently would still need to live somewhere.
It’s far cheaper to build new.
Inhabited (urban) land in the UK still sits at just 6%, a further 2.5% green-urban (parks, cemeteries, private estates etc).
Farm land accounts for nearly 60% land mass, in spite of a lot of it unused or fallow, ridiculous as we import 40% of our food.
We know that shopping areas up and down the country have lost the fight against online; change the usage and turn them into accommodation.
Increase the green belt (protectionism, nimbyism) building. All schools forced to shut….turn them into apartments immediately.
Plenty of options for the willing in government. Just not the berk we currently have.
No shit Sherlock!
Building new is not the answer unless you build
upwards.
Air space is what is needed to house all the people
requiring homes in the country or bring back
pre-fabs, they worked wonders after the war.
(Some parts of the country still use them)
Better that rented accommodation is run by
councils than rogue landlords who charge too much
compared to councils.
