The Isle of Wight Council says that the Cowes Floating Bridge is to remain out of action until at least Wednesday owing to a battery fault.
Contractors have been on board the troubled vessel to identify a fault with 4 batteries.
Replacements have been sourced and it is hoped that these can be installed within the next 48 hours, to get the East Cowes-Cowes service back up and running.
The Floating Bridge has been suspended since Friday when a generator issue was identified, as first reported by Island Echo.
A launch service for foot passengers and cyclists remains in operation.
This service is hardly Ever Ready,
Duracell last longer
Lol
Any-Guyzer should be able to fix it.
So why is there a huge illuminated sign at Northwood saying “Ferries Operating to Timetable” – you know, the one they use to tell us when Floatie is taking a rest?
