Service on the Cowes Floating Bridge has been suspended this afternoon (Friday).
A statement on the Isle of Wight Council Facebook page has stated that a generator issue is to blame.
As a result, a launch service – for foot passengers and cyclists – is in place for the time being.

We moved to the Island twenty five years ago. This saga has been going on for most of that time. I appreciate it must be frustrating for folks who are affected. Someone however, is missing an opportunity. This saga would make an amusing comedy or play.
Just tell us when the ridiculous waste of our taxpayers money is actually working! I don’t bother with it anymore because it has become a laughing stock with its unreliable rubbish piece of . . . . ! Why not just design it on the old chain ferry????
