An Audi R8 has crashed into a garden wall on the corner of a building in Ryde this morning (Wednesday).
The white supercar, owned and driven by a local businessman, has sustained front end damage in the minor collision.
The incident has taken place at the junction of St John’s Hill and Warwick Street.
No one has been injured in the crash.

You can buy a 12 year old super car, but no evolution for the drivers skills.
No car is ever super after 12 years.
Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Nearside Front Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material (1.1.11 (c))
Offside Front Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material (1.1.11 (c))
Nearside Rear Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Offside Front Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Thus bloke has been driving around Ryde like a complete goober for the last week, trying to get back to his village. You can teach most things, but stupid is apparently an innate gift.
Incredible that we were having a conversation about this noob only hours ago and saying that his appalling track record and (now) a super car would end in disaster.. you can’t teach stupid..
Think that is st johns road not hill.
Stu, my pet hate when journalists don’t quote the correct road. This is an often occurrence.
£80K + down the pan…
I’m sure he can afford it…just lucky no one was hurt
Small bump.Minor accident.End of
Small very expensive bump. Oh dear never mind how sad.
Try upward of £110k if new, 12-15 mpg, driving in urban areas, max speed 205mph. Everyone free to make their own decisions of course but wouldn’t call this a vehicle suitable for Island driving!
And I bet he was driving like he was taking his test
Like to know who the local business man is who can afford a car like?
Matty ward
Possibly a councillor they earn silly money
ha ha ha ha, shouldn’t be driving.
Repairs are not going to be cheap.
The R8 is basically a Lamborghini.
Does require driving with respect !
Minor bump ? Who’s kidding who ?
Twat comes to mind.
Typical Audi driver, most of them drive like idiots…
Spot on, Audi drivers have taken over from the BMW drivers. If it is being driven super badly it will an Audi driver
Lot of sad jealous people on here!
Jealousy is a horrible thing
Hardly jealous, most of you drive very old clapped out Audi’s thinking your successful in life…
Give a boy a man’s car this is what happens
It’s an o8 plate probably worth a few grand at best if been fired up and down the motorways for last 12 years lol
You’re still paying the best part 30k for an 08 plate 100k miles
Poser
A gentleman, of course, drives a Daimler.
Grace, pace and space……
He can now do some local businessman like dealings with spares or repairs for whatever is salvageble lol
The only comment springs to mind is why are cars that can do 205 mph being sold to the public. The same goes for motorcycles than can do way over 150 mph. They are road legal. The speed limit is over half that. If the speed is there the driver will be tempted to do it. Cars and motorcycles of that calibre should be on private race tracks or organised street races like the Isle of Man TT and F1 (Singapore one example)
Getting ready for next year.
Looking forward if the Diamond races are allowed. Like I posted the speeds involved will be on a designated road course that will be closed off obviously to the public for the duration. Motorcycles will legally go over the speed limit. Nothing wrong with that.
If a local business man can afford this car, good for him. I think it was for sale in Sandown for £40k. But better to crash that than being smashed up from a bike crash. Hope it’s fixed and driven a bit more carefully soon.
There is plenty of filler available there
Whoops!
Audi driver say no more
Not so super now!
It’s not a supercar tho is it lol
Audi driver. Enough said.
Is that ‘Local’ as in ‘2nd Homer’ because a “Local” should know the roads better.
Minor collision?
Looks like a bit more than that!
Was the driver charged with driving with out due care and attention as cars don’t just crash into walls on their own?
what can i say, shame, he was almost trying to push is way in front of me to turn into west st
made me smile when i saw the damage
