UPDATED: One of the main roads through Bembridge – Forelands Road – is blocked in both directions this evening (Wednesday) following a road traffic collision.
Police and paramedics are currently in attendance at the scene, where a silver Vauxhall Astra has collided into the side of a small van.
The incident took place at around 16:35.
The road is currently impassable and therefore motorists and all Southern Vectis Route 8 buses are diverting locally, although Steyne Road remains closed for roadworks.
UPDATE @ 18:30 – Recovery of the vehicle has been arranged and the road is expected to reopen shortly.
