A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support Dawn, the owner of the Cowes Dress Agency, following devastating flooding over Christmas caused by a water main bursting in the flat above.
Dawn’s shop, a staple in the Cowes community, has been forced to close for major repairs, leaving her without an income. The closure has also impacted her ability to pay customers, whose clothes were damaged in the flood.
Helen Bulbeck is rallying the community to help Dawn through this challenging time, ensuring she can cover her expenses, reinvest in the shop and keep the business afloat. So far, £1,500 has been raised toward the £2,000 target.
Helen Bulbeck has written on the GoFundMe page:
“Many of us have used Dawn to sell our clothes – she is part of the Cowes community. And many of us will know too that over Christmas the Dress Agency took a hit with a burst water main from the flat above.
“Dawn has not had it easy, and whilst the shop is closed for major repairs, she has no income. If everyone who has used the Dress Agency gave £10 Dawn won’t have to go cap in hand to her mum; she can reinvest in the shop and also pay customers whose clothes have been damaged in the flood.
“So – please put your hands in your pockets and help an awesome woman keep her head above water for the next couple of months. It’s not a big ask.”
