Residents of the rural village of Whitwell are voicing their concerns after it was discovered that Openreach are planning to install a 10-metre telegraph pole right outside the parish church.
Company bosses have erected a notice board on the lane leading up to the Church of St Mary and St Rhadegund detailing the plans, of which no planning permission is required to enact them.
Locals fear that the pole will not only ruin the visual appeal of the Grade II listed structure, but that it will hinder access on the narrow lane and possibly cause damage to the churchyard wall.
Anyone who opposes the plans is encouraged to send an objection email to [email protected] and [email protected], quoting the reference: Pole 1 450680,89752 RD_V9081
Quite refreshing to see some reasonable comments without the headbangers that spoiled the old site
Guess what the same people would be moaning if they didnt have a phone signal.
Futility pole!
