Knit Knacks in Lake weaved their way to an impressive £2,936 for Wessex Cancer Trust with their Craftathon back in April, which was hosted by the shop owner Vanessa Standen.
The woolly warriors had 16 people knitting at one point with many others taking part throughout the 24 hours of knitting and crocheting.
Indoors and outdoors, all day and all night, the morale was kept high with a Chinese takeaway halfway through.
Brenda, Steve, Fran, Ann, Debbie, Chris, Vanessa, Wendy, Julie and Jan all completed the full 24 hours.
A spokesperson for Wessex Cancer Trust has said:
“What a fantastic amount raised; we are so grateful and the generosity will have a big impact on local families living with by Cancer.
“Knit Knacks and the team have also kindly donated the goods that were created , from snoods to hats, to Wessex Cancer Trust Newport Centre where those who use our centre can pick them up!”
