The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in Gurnard near Cowes this afternoon (Saturday).
With darkness falling, the yellow and green helicopter has touched down near to Gurnard Primary School.
It’s understood that the helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) team, consisting of doctors and paramedics, are responding to an urgent medical emergency in the area.
The alert was raised at just before 15:30 with the helicopter arriving overhead in the Cowes area by 15:45.
UPDATE @ 16:20 – The air ambulance has now stood down from the incident and is returning to base at Thurxton, near Andover.
