The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in Ryde tonight (Friday) as medics and Police respond to a life-threatening emergency in the centre of town. Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service – supported by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary – responded to a known address on Union Road in response to a reported medical emergency around 22:00. Now, doctors have been flown in to Simeon Street Recreation Ground and rushed to the scene by Police in the hopes of helping to save a life.
More than 5 Police vehicles are on scene alongside an ambulance crew, a rapid response paramedic and an operational commander – and now air ambulance medics. UPDATE @ 23:05 – After less than 20 minutes on the ground, the air ambulance has lifted and is heading back to its base at Thruxton. Police remain on scene but all other resources are standing down.
