Flying medics from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance have been scrambled to a life-threatening medical emergency in Sandown this afternoon (Tuesday).
The HEMS team have joined colleagues from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service at the scene on Station Avenue.
It was just after 15:00 that emergency services were mobilised to the Grade 1 call, including firefighters from Shanklin as medical first responders.
The air ambulance has touched down at nearby Los Altos Park.
Station Avenue is currently closed in both directions as medics tend to the patient. The area has been cordoned off with pedestrians and motorists being diverted locally.
Where would we be without the wonderful
Air Ambulance.
Well done, pray all is well.
